PixelForge is designed for 2D matrix projects, not traditional one dimensional LED strips, just like the animated .gif feature. Once your matrix is configured in LED Preferences → 2D Setup, PixelForge becomes available as a creative playground for experimenting with graphics and animation. 

Click the Other Tools tab and install the tools you want to use with the buttons.

PixelPaint: Draw with paint and drawing tools directly onto your matrix using your computer mouse, all within WLED. Your drawings won't animate, but you can still layer a still hand-drawn image above an animated background, or add sparkles or twinkles using segment layers.

VideoLab: VideoLab is similar to the .gif interface, but here you can upload your own movies and WLED will create animated .gifs from them. Click "Upload" and then use them just like the uploaded animated .gifs on the previous page -- select the Image effect, choose PixelForge / Image Tool and select your .gif.

You'll notice that the selected segment gets renamed automatically to the name of your .gif. This is helpful! Save each one as a preset to load them with one click.

Font Factory: Upload your own fonts and create scrolling text with much more control. 

Upload your favorite font and then click to the Scrolling Text tab in the PixelForge window. There are a lot of settings here that will allow you to scroll text, add current dates and times, color the text, and much more.

Note: WLED 16 includes support for uploading custom fonts, but in stock WLED 16.0.0 these fonts are not yet used by the classic Scrolling Text effect. 

PixelMagic Tool: Upload any image and WLED will convert it to .json code for display on your matrix and save it as a preset. This is an older version of the new image tool - you don't have as many options, but it is convenient if you just want to quickly upload and save images.
