# The Great Seal Mask ## Overview This [quick and easy project](http://www.facebook.com/adafruitindustries/posts/10156918430137578) uses the Adafruit HalloWing to create a creepy Halloween mask from the [seal found on the back of the one dollar bill](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Seal_of_the_United_States).   The Great Seal was first designed in 1782, and has been printed on the back of the one-dollar bill since 1935.  ![](https://cdn-learn.adafruit.com/assets/assets/000/064/756/medium800/wearables_United_States_one_dollar_bill__reverse.jpg?1540827706) The phrase _Novus ordo seclorum_ (Latin for "New order of the ages") appears on the reverse side of the one-dollar bill,[ ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Seal_of_the_United_States "Great Seal of the United States")along with the phrase _Annuit cœptis_, literally translated as "[He/she/it] has favored our undertakings".  ![](https://cdn-learn.adafruit.com/assets/assets/000/064/646/medium800thumb/wearables_IMG_8837.2018-10-26_16_35_59.jpg?1540587210) An old pair of sunglasses (with lenses removed) or a headband can be used to hold this mask to the face.  ## The Electronics - or - ### Adafruit HalloWing M0 Express [Adafruit HalloWing M0 Express](https://www.adafruit.com/product/3900) [This is Hallowing..this is Hallowing... These will be used for alignment.   Align the lens on the back of the cardboard using the holes. Glue this length of rubber band across the back of the lens. Place a few large dabs of hot glue around the bridge of the glasses. This should hold the glasses securely in place for the mask. Poke holes where your eyes will be. Drag and drop the .UF2 onto the **HALLOWBOOT** drive on your computer. This requires some familiarity with the Arduino IDE and, depending on the extent of customizations you have in mind, perhaps some image editing and using Python scripts on the command line. Customization, therefore, is more of an intermediate-level project.
