Reference the Shooter Wiring Harness page earlier in this guide for details on building the wiring harness. This time you'll add the 4-way joystick to the header as shown in the Fritzing diagram above and the photos shown here.
4-Way Restrictor Plate
For more authentic control of games like Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Burger Time, and Donkey Kong, you can swap the joystick's stock restrictor plate (which is circular) for a 4-way plate, which is a diamond shape. This makes it much easier to move in the N-S-E-W cardinal directions without accidentally triggering the diagonals and confusing poor Ms. Pac-Man!
