Securing your Adafruit account is a two-part process. First, you will need to verify your email address. Then, you will need to set up 2FA. Follow the steps below to secure your account.
If you don't have an Adafruit account, you should start there.
Create one now at adafruit.com.
Once you have your account set up, it's time to verify your email address. First, log in to your account and click on the My Account section. Next, click on the Gift Certificates and Coupons option.
Once there, you'll see the SECURED coupon listed under Account Coupons, and you'll see our prompt to verify your email and set up 2FA.
Click the verify your email hyperlinked text. You will need to check your inbox for an email from Adafruit and follow the prompts.
After you verify your account, log out of your account and log back in. Then navigate back to the Gift Certificates and Coupons tab under the My Account section. You'll see that the prompt under the Account Coupons section has been updated. Congratulations! Your email has been verified. Now all you need to do is set up 2FA.
Next, return to the Account Coupons section of your Gift Certificate and Coupons account details and click the link to enable 2FA on your account.
Two-factor authentication is a 2 step process to help keep bad guys out of a computer account even if they have your password. For shorthand in this tutorial, Two-Factor Authentication will be referred to as 2FA.

If you try to use the discount code before 2FA is enabled, you will receive the following error message:
Once 2FA is enabled, please log out of your account and then log back in. That's it! You've SECURED your Adafruit account, and you are officially ready to use that discount.
