During assembly, the battery was plugged into the MEMENTO main board before sandwiching on the rear cover.
The battery need not be removed under normal use. It is rechargeable.
To charge the battery, simply plug in a USB-C cable into the USB-C port on the left side of the camera. The back of the MEMENTO shows "USB-C" where the jack is located.
Plug the other end of the cable into either a USB charging block, a computer USB port, or a USB battery power bank (often called a "lipstick" battery, used to charge mobile phones).
While the camera battery is charging, the tiny yellow light near the USB-C port will be lit yellow. The camera does not need to be on to show the charging status light.
When the battery is fully charged, that yellow LED light will be off.
You can use your MEMENTO even while the battery is charging.
Battery Status
The default stock camera program loaded on MEMENTO from the factory displays the battery voltage. The battery sinking from the full charge 3.7 volts can provide indication of the battery needing a charge.
The CircuitPython Fancy Camera app does not currently have a battery indicator but one could be added by the user.
