# Fruit Jam Case
## Overview
## Snap Fit Enclosure
Are you looking for a way to protect your Fruit Jam board? Look no further! Our 3D printed snap fit case is designed to be as slim as possible, require no hardware fasteners, and give you access to all of the various ports.
The on-board buttons are easily accessible, and the On/Off switch features a separate actuator piece that's more ergonomic to use than the built-in pointy nubbin.
The NeoPixel RGB LEDs are shine through the top cover like magic, thanks to the special LED guard and thin top layer.
## Multi Color or Single Color
If you have a multi-material capable 3D printer, you can print the top cover with multiple colored filaments.

# Fruit Jam Case

## CAD Assembly
The main assembly is available in Fusion 360 and STEP file formats. This includes all of the 3D printed parts and electronic components used in the project. Use the main assembly to create any edits, updates, or modifications.

## Multicolor Part (Optional)
The top cover can optionally be printed in multiple colors using a multicolor capable 3D printer. The 3MF file contains objects that can be assigned different colors in your preferred slicing software.
## Slice Settings
The 3D printed parts feature tight tolerances and have been tested using PLA filament using an FDM 3D printer. Standard quality settings were used and be can referenced for your print.
- 0.2mm layer height
- 0.42 line width
- 210C nozzle / 55C bed
- 2 wall loops
- 5 top/bottom shell layers
# Fruit Jam Case
## Assembly
## Install Fruit Jam
Begin by orienting the board with the bottom half of the case. Then, place the PCB onto the part with the mounting holes lined up.
Ensure the PCB is fully seated onto the standoffs.
## Install On/Off Actuator
Insert the on/off switch to the matching hole in the top cover. It should have a snug fit.
Take note of the position of the switch, and make sure the on/off switch on the Fruit Jam is matching before fitting the top over the bottom half of the enclosure.
Danger: Check the speakers wire length before installing to the case!!! If it's too short, mount it to an area that accommodates for the cable length.
## Connect Speaker (Optional)
If you'd like to include the mini oval speaker, you can adhere it to the top cover. We've tested the best place to stick it is next to the LED guard. Take note of the speaker cable's orientation.
To connect the speaker to the Fruit Jam, plug in the connector to the speaker port on the Fruit Jam (it might still have the protective cover install, if so, simply remove it).
## Snap Close
Orient the top cover with the bottom half of the enclosure. Before closing the case move the on/off slide switch actuator to the same side as the on-board switch.
Firmly press the two halves together to snap fit them closed.
## Switch It On/Off
The 3D printed switch piece should fit over the actuator of the switch on the Fruit Jam. Small nubs built into the piece will prevent the actuator from falling out of the enclosure.
Test the switch by sliding it from side to side.
## All Done!
With the case fully assembly, take a moment check the two halves are fully seated.
## Notes from the Designer
The enclosure was designed by Noe Ruiz for Adafruit Industries. The SWD debug port is not accessible in this current design. The on-board IR sensor has not been tested and may not work when enclosed.
