CAD Files
CAD Parts
Individual 3MF files for 3D printing are oriented and ready to print on FDM machines using PLA filament. Original design source files may be downloaded using the links below.
CAD Assembly
This will all be described in detail on the Assembly page. In short:
- Feather is secured to the bottom plate with machine screws
- Servo is secured to a mount that is attached to the feeder
- Feeder is mounted to the bottom cover with machine screws
- Feeder cover and hopper snap fit over the feeder base
- Speaker is fitted into a mount that is secured to the side of the feeder
- LED glasses are secured to the head using fasteners
- NeoPixel is secured to the brain button cover which is placed inside the arcade button
- Faux bolts are secured to the sides of the hair piece
- Arcade button is mounted to the hair piece
- Hair piece slides on top of the head
Build Volume
The parts require a 3D printer with a minimum build volume of 170 (X) x 136 (Y) x 212mm (Z).
Slice with settings for PLA material
Most of the parts were sliced using BambuStudio using the slicer 0.2mm standard settings.
- PLA filament 220c extruder
- 0.2mm layer height
- 8% gyroid infill
- 200mm/s print speed
- Support type tree(auto) with 30ยบ threshold angle
The head was sliced using 0.24 draft setting to speed up the print time.
The archimedes screw was sliced using a 0.12mm Fine setting to reduce the amount of stepping.
Black LED Acrylic Diffuser (Optional)
The LED glasses can be diffused with a piece of black LED acrylic. A laser cutting service like Ponoko can be used to order and ship a laser cut piece. Download the DXF vector file and upload it to their website to order the diffuser.
Filament Colors
Four main colors are used in this project. The filament is from Polymaker and purchased off Amazon.
