User accounts on Adafruit will be implementing more security features to help keep your account secure. Like many sites, we’ll send email notifications for every new sign-in detected on your account. This additional layer of security is designed to keep you informed and in control, ensuring that your account is being accessed only by authorized individuals.

## Why New Sign-In Notifications?

The introduction of email notifications for new sign-ins adds an extra layer of protection by keeping you in the loop about account access activities. This means that if there is ever an unexpected or unfamiliar sign-in attempt, you’ll receive an email alert promptly.

## What to Expect

When a new sign-in is detected on your account, you will receive an automated email notification from Adafruit. This email will include details such as the date, time, and internet address (IP) location of the sign-in attempt. If it was indeed you logging in, you can simply disregard the email.

However, if you don’t recognize the sign-in, you’ll have the immediate opportunity to take action to secure your account. We recommend keeping this setting for security and account safety. However, if you’d like to turn off security notification emails, you’ll have the option to do that after you’ve created your account.
